What are the different features of places?

In the Prep /1/2 class, we have been sharing and discussing examples of familiar places in our Geography lessons.

We have sorted and classified pictures according to these features. We can describe the features of these locations and we have been discussing their location in relation to each other; using terms such as opposite, next to, between, near and far.

We understand that the features of places can be natural, for example, a beach; managed, for example a farm; or constructed, for example, The Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Next week we will learn how to represent and record these features on pictorial maps and picture graphs.
